Ecuador is doing what they think is right which is granting someone political asylum. The U.S. does it all the time, there are thousands of Cubans housed in the U.S. who were granted stay based on political asylum.

Julian Assange has repeatedly said, he will happily be subjected to questioning by swedish authorities over here, or will go to sweden IF they can guarantee he won’t be extradited to the US. The fact that they refuse to guarantee him this, and the treatment of Bradley Manning IN the US, makes it perfectly clear to me why Julian has chosen this path. I don’t hate Sweden at all. I can’t understand why there is no discussion about this in Sweden, and no one is supporting Julian and Wikileaks. Why is it that Swedes love the USA so much, that they would try to destroy Wikileaks?

It is great what the people of Ecuador have done. I am very disappointed with the people of Sweden. They certainly seem pawns of the US. We in New Zealand stand up to the US also. The American authorities tend be heavy handed, as they have in the Dotcom case in New Zealand. Read about it sometimes – it is similar to Assange.
